Toddler Meals

Vida has been an amazing eater from the very beginning.  She will eat anything we give her, even spicy food. She loves green veggies and fruit the most, but getting her to eat a banana or mashed potatoes is a huge struggle for me. It must be a texture thing. Hopefully she'll eat some soon. Because they are delicious, and a banana is a perfect snack to throw in a diaper bag when you are on the go.
When I'm planning her meals,  I do find myself going through Pinterest a lot to find new and exciting recipes because sometimes I find myself so lost on what to make and I feel like I'm  making the same thing over and over again.

I scroll through Pinterest and make my own meal plan for the week.
So here are 5 different breakfast and lunch ideas that I have put together.
Feel free to change it up a bit and please just use as a guideline, every child is different.

   Rainbow of fruit

     Turmeric Chicken with mustard sauce
This is good to make for dinner and use the leftovers for lunch.
To make this I  used: 2tbs of turmeric powder per half cup of mustard. Mix and spread all over chicken, sprinkle onions and lemons slices too.
Bake until fully cooked.

Baked Coconut chicken nuggets/rice/pineapple and mango dipping sauce.

       Fun breakfast, Owl toast.

I'm not big on snacks because if I feed her snacks between meals she won't eat  and ends up throwing her food or feeding it to the dogs when I'm not looking. So sneaky!!
When I do give her a snack, I try to keep it extremely light or give it to her when I know we will have a large break between meals. Here are a few healthy snacks I love to have on hand or make.

I love these organic puffs. They save me when we are out running errands.

Vida also loves to dip cucumbers in hummus.

Apple slices with peanut butter

This is just examples of what Vida eats throughout the week. Dinner usually consists of what we are eating and she always gets some kind of fruit for dessert. She still breastfeeds so she's not on any kind of milk at the moment so I do try to feed her filling and well rounded meals, once in a while we go out and eat lunch with our friends as a special treat. I hope this helps you to create a fun meal plan for the week, you can also use it at the grocery store so you know what to buy.
Moms sometimes tell me that their toddlers won't eat half of the veggies Vida eats, so I tell them that  toddlers are not born picky eaters, so we must experiment with different textures, colors, and flavors everyday. Give it a try your toddler may surprise you in the end, if they don't like it, don't stress just keep offering it. :)

Please share your fun toddler meal in the comments below I would love to try them out.

Happy Eating.
