Nikolaus Express
On Saturday I took Vida on the Nikolaus Express at the Wiesbaden train station.
We took a ride to another little town nearby called Idstein on a gorgeous steam engine. On the train ride we were served cookies, muffins and hot drinks (they even had Glühwein) and then Old Saint Nick stopped by to deliver presents; little burlap sacks full of candy and chocolate to everyone on board.

At the end, before getting off the train each child was given a wooden train whistle, my ears are still ringing from all the kids blowing their whistles at the exact same time.
It was such a fun and relaxing ride, the only thing I think that would have been been nice would be the inside and outside of the train to be decorated with lights or Christmas decor.
It was missing a small Christmasy touch.

Vida had fun nonetheless and when Santa showed up, she had a huge smile on her face.
